人员简介:

Dr   Tang obtained a PhD degree in Dec 2015 from Queensland University of   Technology (QUT), Brisbane, Australia, focusing on the study of tumour   microenvironment and metastasis using both animal and tissue engineering   models. He began his academic career as an early career postdoctoral   researcher, concentrating on the development of minimally invasive biomarkers   for head and neck cancer using human saliva and blood at QUT/ Institute of   Health Biomedical Innovation (IHBI). Recently, he has developed a   world-first, simple saliva human papillomavirus (HPV) test to detect early   throat cancer in an asymptomatic individual. This finding gives unique   insights into the future direction of HPV-driven head and neck cancer   screening. His current research interests are focused on two key areas: (i) Dissecting the   role of tumour microenvironment in the maintenance of cancer stem cells which   could potentially lead to a breakthrough strategy for the development of new   targeted therapies for cancer, and (ii) Development of minimally invasive   saliva/blood based liquid biopsy biomarkers for detection of cancer.

To date, he has contributed to 26 publications (14   first/corresponding author) and with more than 400 citations and a research   career H-index of 14 assessed on the 20th April 2022. Most of his   works (>90%) have been published in the first quartile (Q1) journals such   as npj Genomic Medicine, The Journal of Molecular Diagnostics, Cancer, Cancer   Science, Cancers, Head & Neck based on the SCImago Journal Ranking. Furthermore,he   has received multiple   prestigious and highly competitive awards such   as Young Scientist Award 2019, ESMO Merit Award 2018   and German Academic Exchange Service Award 2016.Importantly, he has   been involved in both grant preparation and writing for a number of successful   grant applications including 6 research/industry grants   and 1   research donation by a head and neck cancer sufferer, which represent major   achievements for an early career researcher.
