邓新,男,博士生导师。2001年毕业于中国农业大学生物学院,2004年获得中国农业大学生化和分子生物学硕士学位,同年赴美国堪萨斯州立大学植物病理学系留学,2009年获得博士学位,2010至2015年在美国芝加哥大学化学系进行博士后研究。2015年回国, 现任南开大学泰达生物技术研究院研究员,入选天津市青年千人计划。

十余年来,系统的研究假单胞菌致病基因的转录调控,综合运用微生物学、分子生物学和化学生物学的原理与前沿技术手段,从三型分泌系统调控和群体感应系统调控两个方面入手开展研究工作。在假单胞菌中发现了多个关键的致病调控因子,系统而精细地解析了多个致病因子的分子调控网络,建立了多个与致病力和抗药性紧密相关的信号通路,为筛选新型抗菌药物提供了新的靶点和思路。先后在Cell Host Microbe、PLOS Biology、Nucleic Acids Research、Molecular Plant Microbe Interactions和Journal of Bacteriology等权威杂志发表33篇SCI论文(总影响因子245)。
